Cassandra for Mississippi House

Cassandra Welchlin has never been afraid to challenge the status quo. Her mission to fight for the rights of women and girls has shown that she is dedicated, committed and willing to do what is necessary to create change. She has organized women’s rights organizations, fought for families to have access to childcare, and she has stood at the forefront of the movement to make Mississippi a progressive state. She is co-convener and lead organizer of Mississippi Black Women’s Roundtable, an inter-generational statewide network dedicated to increasing civic engagement and voter participation among black women while at the forefront of championing just and equitable public policy on behalf of Black women and girls.

Cassandra is running to be the State Representative for District 68 because she understands the plight of the people. She knows that many in this district are underserved and undervalued. Their voices have been marginalized and they can no longer see their place in our democracy. But Cassandra knows the truth: The truth is that everyone is valuable to the community, and our communities cannot truly thrive unless we are all participating to make life better for everyone.
