Moments ago, the Senate voted to confirm Amy Coney Barrett. Democrats threw up procedural hurdles and boycotted hearings, but that was never going to stop Republicans from a last-minute power grab.
Now we could be stuck for a generation with a dangerously right-wing Supreme Court that threatens our health care, our democracy and our fundamental rights.
The ONLY fix is to flip the Senate eight days from now and take steps to restore balance to the Court.
Right now, Iowa is *the* closest Senate race according to FiveThirtyEight’s Senate forecast. The fourth closest is Maine’s. Both are races we’ll rely on to get us to a majority, assuming Arizona and Colorado (where Democrats have a major advantage) go our way.
Leading outside the margin of error in two races when you need to win four is not great.
It’s why Republicans are seeing a late surge in fundraising momentum. Mitch McConnell’s Senate Leadership Fund has raised nearly $100 million in the last two weeks, most of it from billionaires and dark-money groups.
