Last week California Gov. Gavin Newsom signed the Election Rigging Response Act, which will head to the ballot this November as Proposition 50.

This ballot measure would update California’s Congressional maps through 2030 to create at least five new districts that favor Democrats, effectively countering new maps the Texas legislature passed last week to erase five Democratic districts. You can learn more at stopelectionrigging.com

While the races for 2026 will potentially change once these maps pass, there are currently women running in the five seats that would become newly flippable—CA-1, CA-3, CA-22, CA-41 and CA-48.

Support them now with our updated 2026 House CA slate:

  • Rose Penelope Yee (CA-1), a local business owner who was also the nominee against Republican Rep. Doug LaMalfa last cycle;
  • Heidi Hall (CA-3), the chair of the Nevada County Board of Supervisors who is challenging Republican Rep. Kevin Kiley, a perennial flip target;
  • Dr. Jasmeet Bains (CA-22), who represents District 35 in the California Assembly and is challenging Republican Rep. David Valadao;
  • Katherine Aleman (CA-41), a public school teacher and farmer, and Tiffanie Tate (CA-41), an OB-GYN and retired Navy officer, who are both running to challenge Republican Rep. Ken Calvert;
  • Whitney Shanahan (CA-48), a reproductive rights advocate who ran in this district’s primary in 2024, and Suzanne Till (CA-48), a Marine Corps veteran and member of the Padre Dam Municipal Water District (MWD) Board of Directors, who are both running to challenge Republican Rep. Darrell Issa.

Help jumpstart these women’s campaigns ASAP by giving to our 2026 House CA slate.

And stay tuned for updates on these developing races.
