New slate alert!

Today we’re rolling out our Madame President (of the Senate) slate — three organizations working on the ground to get Rev. Raphael Warnock and Jon Ossoff into the US Senate: Fair Fight Action, New Georgia Project, and the GA Senate Victory Fund.

You might be wondering: What does this have to do with supporting Democratic women?

Your donation supports the highest-ranking Democratic woman in the country, Vice President-elect Kamala Harris, by giving her a vote in the US Senate!

In a Senate split 50-50 between Republicans and Democrats, Kamala becomes the most powerful person operating in the legislative branch. Not only will she be the President’s lead emissary on critical policy issues, she’ll be the tie-breaking vote for the Administration’s legislative agenda as well as confirmation of critical nominations.

This could set her up to be one of the most powerful vice presidents in history. It also means we’ll be hearing the phrase “Madame President” on the regular, since that is what the vice president and president pro tempore are called when they preside as president of the Senate.

(We should note that she is not the first woman to serve as president of the Senate—that honor went to the first female senator, Arkansas Sen. Hattie Caraway, when she presided over the Senate briefly in 1943.)

This slate also supports another very important Democratic woman: Stacey Abrams, whose organizations Fair Fight Action, which works to protect voting rights, and New Georgia Project, which focuses on voter reg, have been essential to building Democratic power in the Peach State.

The runoff is Jan. 5 — four weeks from today. Mitch McConnell and the GOP will raise and spend record amounts to protect their majority and we need to make sure Ossoff and Warnock have every cent they need to compete.

Let’s support Stacey and give Kamala a vote in the Senate. Chip in $5 or more to our Madame President (of the Senate) slate.
