Yesterday’s vote was shameful, but one thing feels good: We can count on Democratic women to do the right thing.
Sen. Heidi Heitkamp, down in the polls and running for re-election in a state that voted for Trump by more than 30 points, faced intense pressure to confirm Kavanaugh.
But she did the right thing. We should thank her and Sen. Claire McCaskill for voting against this nomination. They are sure to be smeared all the way to November for their courageous votes against Kavanaugh.
Chip in $5 each to the most vulnerable incumbents on our Supreme Courage slate—and the 2 women running to flip seats!
Even without the limited investigation the Trump White House permitted the FBI to undertake, it would be clear that Kavanaugh doesn’t have the personal integrity required of someone who sits on our highest court.
And the fact remains: The sexual assault allegations against him are credible. A vote to confirm him is a betrayal of basic human decency.
Our Democratic women saw that, and rightfully voted no. Let’s tell them thanks:
Chip in $10 to Heidi Heitkamp and Claire McCaskill. Then chip in $10 more to help Jacky Rosen and Kyrsten Sinema flip seats.
