This spring, Rep. LaMonica McIver (NJ-10) was indicted for conducting a legally authorized congressional oversight visit at a New Jersey ICE detention center. 

Now, LaMonica faces mounting legal fees and up to 17 years in jail for doing her job, all because this administration wants to attack oversight and all who dare to speak up for what’s right. 

LaMonica has—of course—pleaded not guilty to what is obviously a politically motivated prosecution. But those facts have not stopped Republican attacks, including targeting her US House race in 2026. 

WomenCount is supporting Rep. LaMonica McIver with a new slate featuring her and Vote Mama PAC. Plus, donors who give at least $50 will be invited to a virtual event, Mamas for LaMonica, with her at 1:30 pm ET this Thursday, August 21.

Donations to the slate will be split between LaMonica’s campaign and Vote Mama PAC to help the Congressmama in the fight for her seat. In addition to LaMonica, the event will feature Reps. Jennifer McClellan, Brittany Pettersen, Hillary Scholten, Lateefah Simon and Jill Tokuda. 

We all know that the “old boys club” in politics is alive and well. Vote Mama PAC is pushing back by building the Mamas Network—a collective of moms who support, encourage, and mentor one another through the ups and downs of running and serving in office.
