The big news today is Sen. Jeanne Shaheen’s retirement, setting up a battle for an open, toss-up US Senate race next year. We don’t have any other intel on that race, but will keep you posted. There is, however, some under-the-radar news in elections happening *right now* that we wanted to share with you:
Meghan,
Three women in very close spring races are hitting bumps in the road this month.
- First—with less than a month until the April 1 election—Elon Musk dumped $3.2 million into the Wisconsin Supreme Court race to oppose Democrat-backed Judge Susan Crawford, making his PAC the single largest outside spender in that race;
- Then, fundraising reports posted in the Oakland mayor’s race showed former Rep. Barbara Lee with a $57,000 deficit against her male opponent. That primary is coming up April 15.
- Now, a new poll in New Jersey shows Newark Mayor Ras Baraka making inroads against Rep. Mikie Sherrill among core liberal groups who will be key to winning the June 10 primary in the governor’s race.

The fourth candidate on our slate, San Antonio mayoral candidate Gina Ortiz Jones, got better news this month from a poll that showed her leading a crowded pack, although a majority of voters are still undecided. That election is May 3.
Let’s make sure all four women are fully funded heading into their upcoming elections.
