Before you wrap up your year-end giving, can you give us the gift of an upgrade?
We’ll cut to the chase: WomenCount’s crowdfunding platform needs a major tech upgrade before the 2020 races heat up. And that’s going to cost us at least $20,000.
WomenCount has always been cutting-edge. When the platform debuted, in 2015, it was—and still is—the only crowdfunding platform that exclusively raises for Democratic women. Since then, small-dollar, grassroots fundraising has become an indispensable part of a successful campaign, but it’s not an area where Democrats have a monopoly.
Donald Trump reigns as the most prolific grassroots fundraiser in history. That’s why we need to keep our platform in top shape for 2020.
Another reason you should give to us: Where some political crowdfunding platforms have faltered, WomenCount has survived by 1) relying on a low-budget nonprofit model that prioritizes relationships above all else, and 2) being clear that we only fund Democratic women.
That’s why our community has contributed more than $3 million since 2015 in small-dollar donations to Democratic women, and has grown to more than 10,000 members.
