Democrats have been notching victories and landing blows for democracy in a string of special elections this spring.

Now, we’re shifting focus to the next battleground: Virginia.

All 100 House of Delegates districts plus the governor’s, lieutenant governor’s and attorney general’s offices are up for re-election this year, giving Virginia Democrats the opportunity not only to increase their majority and flip executive offices, but also hand national Democrats a roadmap for making national gains in 2026.

That’s why we’re teaming up with EMILYs List, Her Bold Move, Virginia’s List, Elect Black Women, the Next 50, and Electing Women National Capital Region for our online Virginia Is for Women fundraiser benefiting 10 candidates for statewide and state legislative office in Virginia.

Donate now to RSVP and join us at 7 PM ET on Thursday, May 15 on Zoom in support of these candidates. A minimum donation of $50 saves your seat and will be split among the following candidates:

  • 🔸Lt. Gov. candidate Ghazala Hashmi, who currently serves as a state Senator in the 15th district and is the only woman in a seven-candidate primary;
  • 🔸Attorney General candidate Shannon Taylor, who is facing former Delegate Jay Jones in what is currently a two-person primary;
  • District 22 candidate Elizabeth Guzmán, a former Delegate who was redistricted out in 2023 and is looking to reclaim a seat;
  • District 41 candidate Lily Franklin, who ran last cycle and lost to the incumbent Republican by only 183 votes;
  • 🔸District 57 candidate May Nivar, who is in a two-person primary for this district that local leaders rate a top pickup opportunity;
  • District 71 candidate Jessica Anderson, who lost in 2023 to the current Republican incumbent by only 1.9 percent after being vastly outspent;
  • 🔸District 73 candidate Leslie Mehta, a medical charity founder who carries an endorsement from Abigail Spanberger;
  • 🔸District 75 candidate Lindsey Dougherty, who’s mounting a rematch in a district she barely lost to the current incumbent in 2019;
  • District 82 candidate Kimberly Pope Adams, who fell short of flipping this district by less than half a percentage point in 2023;
  • 🔸District 89 candidate Karen Robins Carnegie, a lawyer who’s taking on the only open, competitive House seat.

Some of these candidates🔸 are facing competitive primaries on June 17 and are lagging behind their male opponents in fundraising, and they need our support if we want gains for Democrats in Virginia to be gains for women.

Please donate now to RSVP and save your spot for our May 15 joint Zoom event benefiting Virginia candidates.
